Position: Fourth Grade Teacher |
Over the past ten years, I have worked with grades K, 4, 5 and 6. I have been able to team teach, use outcome based education, the A-Beka curriculum and served on many comities. We also were given state grants to have five Macs in our classroom using Hyperstudio and many CD's for research.
I am currently using technology as an educator by creating tools for my classroom and allowing my students ample opportunity to use computers for their research and finalizing reports.
During the next two weeks I hope to gain an understanding of creating and maintaining a web site. I also hope to leave feeling comfortable with workstations in my classroom in terms of managing and creating.
The technology available to my students is varied. In our computer lab we have PC's with Internet access, we have a digital camera, a scanner and numerous amounts of software. In our classroom we have a Mac and a PC for use. We do not have printers in the room which makes productivity a little difficult.
| Two of my goals as an educator are to effectively use computers to link the curriculum while expanding the technical knowledge of my students and to help my students come to know God as their Lord and Savior. |

Having
taught kindergarten this year I did many things that I am particularly
pleased with. The one thing that makes me the proudest is the fact that
all my kindergartners left me reading phonetically.

My most favorite hobby is spending time with my two boys. They are my biggest joys. I also love to read, collect angels and am an avid scrapbook keeper.
Honestly, my most favorite place to travel is anywhere new that I take my boys to. I thoroughly enjoy the looks on there faces as they experience something new.
Are you enjoying returning to Carolina? You bet I am, GO HEELS!
