The greatest highlight throughout my teaching career of 12 years so far is that every year is a new adventure! :-)
I have had the opportunity to teach a variety of grade levels from 4th - 9th and now have changed the field I work in from the classroom and mainly students to EVERYONE in my school with technology. I have been Teacher of the Year at our school as a classroom teacher and have been nominated by my principal as an outstanding math and science teacher.

I use technology ALL the time working with both students and teachers. I attempt to keep the lab and computers throughout the school running, am network administrator and sysop, purchase hardware and software and setup and install them, teach classes in the lab or work in classrooms on request, conduct technology staff development, play webmaster, and whatever else as needed.

I hope to get ideas to share with my staff on ways to integrate technology into the curriculum and use
workstations to effectively to do this. I also want to learn ways to enhance our school web page. Telecommunications and probeware are other areas I know very little about.

My goals are to learn something new everyday and make and keep learning exciting for both students and staff. I want to instill in them a love of learning using technology as a tool, not a separate part of the curriculum.

Getting students to enjoy writing by using word processing and technology is something that I feel good about. We have several different programs they can use and I have seen a tremendous growth in some of their writing skills. Technology has allowed this by the editing feature in word processing and being able to insert graphics - handdrawn in a paint program, scanned, digital camera, clipart, etc.

I love sports! I used to play on a coed softball team until 2 years ago when my rapidly aging body said ENOUGH! Fortunately, I am able to watch my kids participate in them still and I have digressed to bowling. I also enjoy reading and crafts.

The mountains, any mountains, is a favorite place for me to be. I feel such a cleansing and relaxation being up above everything else and looking down. The air is fresh and the nature breathtaking.
