Instructional Technology
I focused on instructional technology projects while serving as an Educator-On-Loan with the Department of Public Instruction from 1998 - 2000. I returned to the classroom where I practiced what I was sharing in the role of Educator-On-Loan as archived in the Sharks Team 2000-01 Digital Portfolio. I completed my career with Gaston County Schools at Highland School of Technology where I worked as Academy Coordinator for the Computer Engineering Technology, Network Administration, Finance Pathways and assisted with instructional technology on the school level. At Highland School of Technology I worked with students and teachers in the development of Advanced Studies/Senior Project, E-Mentors, advisory boards/community involvement, and a school-wide emphasis on digital portfolios.
I am a trainer and webmaster for the North Carolina Teacher Academy and provide resources and lead workshops in effective use of technology in instruction. Currently I am involved with other trainers in creating online follow-ups for the three technology modules and revisions of the summer training.

"When I needed a champion to lead our school system’s technology gurus in professional development, I quickly called upon Glenn Gurley. I knew he had recently retired from a stellar career in education. I knew his innovation, thoroughness and patience would serve us well. Glenn did not disappoint. On December 14 and 15, Glenn did a masterful job of empowering our Instructional Technology leaders to use Photo Story III, Movie Maker II, and Producer for PowerPoint 2003. He assembled incredible web resources that we still reference. Since the workshops, we have seen heightened awareness to digital video integration in both student-centered and school-centered products. Glenn used his vast experience to help us move forward with instructional technology. He is as thorough and even-keeled a facilitator as there ever was!"
